What Is Sheet Metal Fabrication?

Sheet metal fabrication is one of the traditional manufacturing process. Usually the material is steel or aluminum. In the process, the material will be turned into certain structures to be products, by cutting, punching, folding and assembling. Sheet metal can be bent, cut or stretched into a variety of shapes.

Sheet Metal Fabrication Feeding Way

1. Shearing machine: It is a simple piece of material that is cut by a shearing machine. It is mainly prepared for die blanking. The cost is low and the accuracy is less than 0.2MM. 

2. Punching machine: It uses a punching machine to punch flat parts after unfolding the parts on the sheet in one or more steps to form various shapes of materials. Its advantages are short man-hours, high efficiency, high precision, low cost, and suitable for large batches.  but need to design the mold.

3. CNC: First of all, making the CNC machining program, and use the programming software to compile the developed drawing into a program recognizable by the CNC digital, and let it punches out the various shapes of the flat plate one by one according to these programs. But its structure is affected by the tool structure, the cost is low, and the accuracy is 0.15MM

4. Laser cutting is the use of a laser cutting method to cut out the structural shape of the flat plate on the large flat plate. The same as CNC cutting, it is necessary to write a laser program. It can cut various complex-shaped flat pieces with high cost and accuracy at 0.1MM
